Razer x Panerai

At RazerCon 2021, Italian watchmaker Panerai and gaming giant Razer joined forces to invest in research to support Conservation International Asia-Pacifics’s work on saving manta rays. This year, at RazerCon 2022, the two brands announced the first product of their collaboration: the Luminor Quaranta Razer Special Edition.

The 40mm watch’s matte black sandwich dial features Super-LumiNova that illuminates green. Meanwhile, the seconds hand sitting at the 9 o’clock position and the strap stitching are done in electric green.

Razer’s triple-headed snake logo is engraved on the caseback and dial, while the Razer wordmark is displayed on the crown-protection bridge.

The timepiece’s case is sustainably crafted from eSteel, a next-generation metal made of recycled steel and coated with DLC (diamond like carbon coating). The strap, on the other hand, is made from recycled PET obtained from post-consumer plastic bottles. Even the package itself is made of 72% recycled material.

Powered by the P.900 caliber, the Luminor Quaranta Razer Special Edition features a date window at 3 o’clock and a three-day power reserve. It’s also water-resistant to 10 bar/~100 meters.

Production is limited to 500 pieces, and the watch is only available through the watchmaker’s boutiques and online store for $8,400.
