To celebrate Earth Day 2026, LG Electronics Philippines organized an employee-led e-waste drive, where. it gathered a total of 1,200 kilograms of old electronics between March 31 and April 21.
Collected e-waste was turned over to an accredited hazardous waste management partner for proper disposal. Employee volunteers also participated in the safe destruction of e-waste at the company’s warehouse in Pasig City.
The intiative reflects LG’s broader sustainability efforts, which include recycling waste generated across its global operations. The company maintains a recycling rate above 95% and has recorded cumulative e-waste collection of over 5.01 million tons worldwide.
LG currently operates electronic waste collection and treatment services in 89 locations across 54 countries, including the Philippines, where such services began in August 2022.
E-waste includes end-of-life devices such as televisions, computers, mobile phones, batteries, and small appliances. Improper disposal can harm air, water, and soil quality.
Through initiatives like this, LG aims to promote responsible recycling practices while encouraging employee participation and community engagement.
