HONOR‘s first foldable to see a global release has been announced at MWC 2023.
Initially introduced in China late last year, the HONOR Magic Vs features what HONOR calls a “Super-light Gearless Hinge” that has been crafted using single-piece casting technology with just four structural components (from 92 in the previous generation). Said hinge can withstand up to 400,000 folds as tested by TÜV Rheinland, which is equivalent to more than 10 years of use based on 100 folds per day.
The HONOR Magic Vs measures just 12.9mm thin when folded and tips the scales at just 267g. Despite its compact form factor, HONOR managed to pack the Magic Vs with a 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
This flagship-grade foldable is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 512GB of on-board storage. It’s also equipped with a 6.45-inch 120Hz OLED cover screen and a 7.9-inch 90Hz folding OLED main display.
Its rear triple camera system is composed of a 54MP IMX800 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS. There’s also a 16MP selfie shooter.
The Magic Vs runs the latest HONOR MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13 and is available in Cyan and Black for €1,599 Euros (12GB/512GB variant).
