GAC Philippines has expanded its local lineup with the launch of three new multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs): the all-new GN6, E8 HEV, and GN8 PHEV Executive
The three models make up GAC’s new MPV family, a lineup designed to address different customer needs, from everyday commuting and family travel to hybrid efficiency and chauffeur-driven luxury.
The all-new GN6 serves as the entry-level model. Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, it produces 174hp and 270Nm.
The seven-seater features a 2,810mm wheelbase, a 190mm center aisle for easier cabin access, and cargo capacity that expands from 324 liters to 1,100 liters with the third-row seats folded.
Standard features include a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Positioned above it is the GAC E8 HEV, which combines a 2.0-liter hybrid engine producing 138hp and 180Nm, with an electric motor generating 180hp and 300Nm. The hybrid system delivers a driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers and a WLTC fuel consumption rating of 5.58 L/100km.
The MPV also offers up to 18 seating configurations, Zero Gravity second-row seats with massage and ventilation functions, and third-row Magic Storage seats that can fold flat into the floor or be configured in Tea Break Mode,
Other features include acoustic laminated glass, dual sunroofs, power-sliding doors, wireless phone charging, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, and ADiGO intelligent driving technologies such as Traffic Jam Assist and Integrated Cruise Assist.
At the top of the range is the GN8 PHEV Executive, a full-size seven-seat plug-in hybrid built for executive transport.
It pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 373hp and 630 Nm of torque. Its 25.5-kWh battery provides an electric-only driving range of up to 120km and a total combined range of 1,038 km, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in about 45 minutes.
Premium amenities include second-row captain’s seats with massage, heating and ventilation; a 16-speaker audio system; Zero Breeze Air Conditioning system; and a panoramic roof; PM2.5 air filtration; and dual power-sliding doors.
