VinFast, a pioneering Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, recently made its much-anticipated debut in the country, showcasing its lineup of sleek and modern EVs at the SM Mall of Asia.

The launch event was a vibrant display of the future. VinFast models—the VF 9, VF 7, VF e34, and VF 5—stood proudly on display, capturing the attention of the crowd with their futuristic designs. Customers lined up at the test drive area on the eighth floor of the mall for a chance to go behind the wheel of the EVs.

Founded in 2017, VinFast’s rapid development and unique battery subscription model earned it a spot among TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024.

The compact VF 5 is powered by a 37.23kWh battery for a range of up to 326km, while the bigger VF e34 boasts a 42KWh battery (148hp) good for 318.6km on a single charge.

There’s also the midsize SUV, the VF 7, which will be offered in two variants upon launch: the VF 7S (single electric motor) and VF 7 Plus (dual electric motor).

Serving as the flagship model of the VinFast lineup is the 7-seater VF9. It boasts a sprawling panoramic glass roof, a massive 15.6-inch screen, and dual 201hp motors.

As of writing, VinFast has yet to reveal the pricing of the said models. However, the company announced that it has already partnered with four dealers in the Philippines and will be offering a battery subscription policy, a 10-year warranty on vehicles, and a free battery replacement and maintenance program.

The first cars are expected to be delivered to Philippine customers from the third quarter of this year.
