Great photos don’t always require a heavy camera bag. Canon’s new EOS R8 Mark II packs full-frame performance into a compact, lightweight body designed to go wherever the day takes you.
Weighing approximately 546g and measuring about 131.4 x 90.0 x 79.7mm, the 24.2-megapixel camera is Canon’s smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless model with in-body IS (image stabilizer). Its sleek new design also features a multi-controller, or joystick, giving photographers more intuitive autofocus control while looking through the viewfinder.

The full-frame CMOS sensor helps the camera capture more light than an APS-C sensor, making it easier to get detailed, cleaner-looking photos in challenging lighting. Its 5-axis In-Body IS also helps keep handheld shots steady. Paired with a compatible RF lens with image stabilization, Coordinated Control IS can provide up to 7.5 stops of stabilization at the center.
Fast-moving moments are also easier to capture with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, Pre-Continuous Shooting, and continuous shooting of up to 40 frames per second using the electronic shutter. Register People Priority can further help keep a specific person in focus in crowded scenes, such as weddings, graduations, and concerts.

For those who want to develop their own visual style, the EOS R8 Mark II offers new NegativeFilmtone and PositiveFilmtone color filters, additional color modes, and Creative AUTO mode, which provides creative assistance through an intuitive interface.
Video creators can record 6K-oversampled 4K 60p video, Full HD 180p with audio, and Canon Log 3. Livestreaming is also supported through four wired and wireless options, including multi-angle livestreaming via the Live Switcher Mobile app.

Canon is also launching the Extension Grip EG-E2, Tripod Grip HG-1000TBR, and Speedlite EL-5 (Ver. 2) alongside the EOS R8 Mark II.
