BYD Cars Philippines has rolled out the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i, a subcompact SUV built with Super DM-i technology, which combines the benefits of electric driving with the reliability of a gasoline engine, offering motorists a smooth, powerful, and worry-free experience without range anxiety.
The Sealion 5 DM-i is powered by the advanced Super DM-i system, designed to prioritize electric driving while keeping long trips stress-free with a 1.5-liter high-efficiency generator. With 194hp and 300Nm of torque on tap, it can go from 0 to 100kph in just 8.3 seconds.
You can switch between Economy, Normal, or Sport mode depending on how you want to drive, and with a full charge and tank, you get a total range of over 1,000 km. The ultra-safe 12.96 kWh Blade Battery also gives you up to 71 km of all-electric driving, based on NEDC standards.
The Sealion 5 DM-i is equipped with full LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, integrated puddle lamps, stylish roof rails, and heated, power-adjustable mirrors.
Its spacious interior features premium materials, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 10.1-inch rotating touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Its tech-forward interior includes smart features such as NFC card entry, push-start ignition, multiple USB ports, and BYD Cloud Service with over-the-air updates. Meanwhile, the BYD App lets owners remotely manage vehicle security and comfort.
The Sealion 5 DM-i comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features including cruise control, a rear camera with radar sensors, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold, hill descent control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and six airbags.
The BYD Sealion 5 DM-i is priced at P1,248,000, but BYD Cars Philippines is offering it at an introductory cash price of P1.198 million. You can also get it with an P88,000 down payment. Color options include Arctic White, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black, and Deep Sea Blue, each paired with a luxurious beige and brown two-tone interior.
It also comes with BYD’s comprehensive warranty coverage, which includes 8 years/160,000km for the Blade Battery, 8 years/150,000km for the electric motor and control systems, and 6 years/150,000km for the new vehicle warranty.
