We got our hands on the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED (T3300), the latest 2-in-1 device that ASUS claims to be the world’s first 13.3-inch OLED Windows detachable laptop.

This 2-in-1 laptop aims to provide entertainment and productivity on the go in four modes: tablet, landscape stand, portrait stand, and laptop mode. The 13.3-inch OLED Dolby Vision touchscreen and quad-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system are expected to raise the bar in the entertainment aspect.

The OLED display truly makes colors pop. Vivid colors and deep blacks should not be a problem with this screen, being PANTONE Validated with cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 gamut and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

The even better news is that the display has up to 70% lower harmful blue light levels than an LCD. Plus the display is certified by TÜV Rheinland for adhering to high safety and quality standards. This means that you can use this machine for extended periods without harming your eyes.

The detachable full-size keyboard and a pre-installed lifetime license of Microsoft Office apps show how serious the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is about productivity. Even the USB Type-C charging port already makes life so much easier.

The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED can include the ASUS Pen 2.0, which turns the slate into a vehicle for creativity. The ASUS Pen 2.0 comes with 4,096-level pressure sensitivity and tips that mimic a pencil’s four different degrees of hardness: 2H, H, HB, and B. Aside from aiding illustration and graphic design, the pen could make for easier note-taking and annotation.

Even the packaging screams creativity right off the bat. It looks young, fresh, and stylish but is well-organized. The slate, detachable keyboard, kickstand, stylus, charger, and padded case are packaged neatly and separately. It is easy to tell that ASUS put a lot of thought into designing the packaging.

The same can be said about designing the components. Just putting them together was already a fun experience.

Both magnetic, the detachable keyboard and the kickstand fit the slate perfectly. I was pleased to complete the build quickly without needing any instruction. The design was so deliberate that it made assembly intuitive and straightforward. For a busy person, this no-fuss setup is important, especially on the go.

A solid build is another important quality in a device meant to be used anywhere and everywhere. Fortunately, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED feels solid as a rock. The 785g 7.9mm-thick device is light enough to tote around but not too light to make it seem fragile. And because a padded case is already included in the box, you can head out the door with your new slate in just a few minutes after unboxing.

The Intel Pentium Silver N600 processor, 4 or 8GB RAM, 128GB eMMC or SSD, Intel UHD Graphics, and Windows 11 round up the specs that make entertainment, creativity, and productivity possible on this slate. It is already available in ASUS Concept Stores starting at P39,995.

The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED makes a good impression out of the box. Will it live up to the promise? Watch for our full review soon.
