Introduced in 2020 as Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) first hybrid electric crossover alongside its regular Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) variants, the Corolla Cross was key to accelerating electrification in the Philippines.

While TMP pioneered hybrid in 2009, it was when the Corolla Cross was launched for P1,680,000—the most affordable full hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) at that time—that led to the arrival of more affordable HEVs in the country.

Now, the Philippines’ bestselling HEV model to date has a new and improved version: the 2024 Corolla Cross, which now comes in an all-HEV lineup.

Here are the available variants and their prices:

  • Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S HEV: P1,917,000 (additional P5,000 for Emotional Red 2)
  • Toyota Corolla Cross V HEV: P1,763,000 (additional P15,000 for Platinum White Pearl)
  • Toyota Corolla Cross G HEV: P1,498,000 (additional P15,000 for Platinum White Pearl)

The V and G variants now sport a mesh-like grille with hexagonal outlines, while the GR-S retains the façade of the previous Corolla Cross GR-S HEV.

The V and GR-S variants now have LED lamps with automatic high beam (AHB) and sequential turn signal, while the G variant has upgraded from halogen lamps to LED lamps.

The V variant now has a power back door with a kick sensor, just like the GR-S variant. Additionally, the top-of-the-line GR-S HEV variant includes a panoramic view monitor camera and a panoramic moonroof for a premium touch.

Inside, all variants now have LED interior lamps and a leather steering wheel. The foot brake has also now been replaced with an electronic parking brake (EPB).

The new Corolla Cross is also packed with convenience features, such as a 12.3-inch fully digital multi-information display (MID) for the GR-S. The V, meanwhile, has a 7-inch TFT MID, while the G has a 4.2-inch TFT MID.

All three variants have a 10-inch display audio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger for convenient smartphone charging on the go.

The GR-S and V variants are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), which includes pre-collision system, automatic high beam, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, and dynamic cruise control. Meanwhile, standard across all variants are active safety features such as emergency brake signal, anti-lock brake system, electronic brake distribution, and vehicle stability control.

The new Corolla Cross is powered by a hybrid 4-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve DOHC, chain drive with VVT-i engine with CVT transmission. This hybrid engine combines the power of a conventional engine with the fuel efficiency of an electric motor for an eco-friendlier drive.
