Yamaha Motor Philippines revved up the custom scene at this year’s Kustomanila with its moped scrambler, the Yamaha PG-1. With its timeless design and rugged versatility, the PG-1 took center stage in a weekend filled with creative build-offs, hands-on workshops, and adrenaline-pumping test rides.
The brand’s main showcase, the PG-1 Outdoor Custom Throwdown, featured three editions that celebrated the spirit of adventure and individuality.

In the Bikers Build-off, five top motorctcle builders—HB Customs, Mark Paolo, Motoyaki Customs, 1008 Moto Garage, and Club Makina—transformed the PG-1 into custom masterpieces. Motoyaki Customs claimed the championship with a military-inspired build that balanced performance and aesthetics.

The Campers Build and Travelers Build, on the other hand, invited everyday PG-1 owners to showcase their personalized rides. Crisanto Francisco took top honors in the Campers category, while Oliver Herrera won the Travelers Build with a tour-ready creation built for long journeys.

Visitors also flocked to Yamaha’s Explorers’ Nook, a themed area offering a slice of outdoor adventure with customization workshops, podcast screenings, and even a coffee corner.

Yamaha also created a specialized off-road test ride course that let riders experience the PG-1’s capability firsthand—tackling rough terrain, logs, and sand with ease.
