Cebuana Lhuillier’s sister company Xpress Superapp (Xpress) rolled out its ride sharing service for Filipino commuters in time for Women’s Month, aligning with the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day—’Inspire Inclusion.’

Xpress is set to make commuting in the National Capital Region (NCR) more affordable and safe with its MC Taxi and 4W transport service. The app is designed to create a supportive environment for both customers and drivers, with features that promote inclusivity and address common concerns faced by women during their daily commute.

“Accessible and affordable rides are part of Xpress’ commitment to ensure that every Filipino gets to enjoy the app. With Xpress, no one is left behind and all customers, especially women are assured that their safety is our priority,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, Xpress Chairman and PJL Group of Companies president and CEO.

Safety remains top priority

Xpress implements various processes and features to enhance safety measures within its platform. First, a rigorous screening process is in place for partner drivers, who must submit documents such as a professional driver’s license and NBI clearance before activation on the Xpress app. This ensures that drivers have a good moral character and meet the eligibility criteria for ferrying customers.

Additionally, the platform prioritizes safety and security by allowing passengers to share their location during a ride and nominate up to three emergency contacts who will be notified in case of need.

Furthermore, a customer and driver rating system is incorporated. Customers can provide feedback on the ride and partner driver, and the driver can also rate his or her passenger.

Ride for Xpress Program

To further promote inclusivity, Xpress is introducing the Ride for Xpress Program (RXP), an initiative that allows eligible Filipinos without a motorcycle to earn through ride-hailing under a “boundary-hulugan” system.

Qualified riders will receive a daily payment of P700 as long as they ride for six days a week and meet the required percentage of daily rides. A percentage will be deducted for motorcycle maintenance and daily amortization for the motorcycle. After a year in the program, the riders will become the official owners of the motorcycle.

To celebrate Women’s Month, Xpress is giving customers 20% off on 4W and MC Taxi rides using the following codes: XPRESSGOTUSIS (for 4W) and XPRESSITGIRL (for MC Taxi). The promo is valid from March 8 to March 31.
