Xiaomi has launched a new wearable that can potentially be the ultimate parent sidekick.
The Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch is ideal for parents who want to stay connected with their kids while giving them the freedom to explore and have a great time.
The smartwatch uses precise AI positioning at a high frequency, allowing parents to easily track their kid’s location. If they set up familiar addresses like home and school, the Xiaomi Kids app sends timely reminders when their child enters or leaves these locations.
For privacy and security, the wearable does not grant system permissions to unauthorized third parties, preventing any chance of user information getting out. The app also adopts AES256-bit encryption method, and different passwords are used for different phones. Xiaomi also ensures safe data transmission through advanced encryption methods like HTTPS and WSS.
The watch has a slot for a nano SIM card that lets it make phone calls and video calls without needing a smartphone. It can also connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.
It also supports various exercise modes and tracks activity time, calories burned, and steps.
Other features of the wearable include a 1.4-inch display with AF anti-fingerprint coating, a 2MP front-facing camera, 2ATM splash resistance, a 900mAh battery, and an easy-to-clean silicone strap.
The Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch is priced at P4,899 and is available online on Lazada and TikTok, as well as offline at Xiaomi stores.
