A day before the Mobile World Congress 2024 kicked off on February 26, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 series in Barcelona, introducing its latest flagship series in partnership with Leica.

The tech giant unveiled the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system, Xiaomi Surge battery management system, and the cutting-edge Xiaomi HyperOS.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra takes design cues from traditional cameras, featuring a unique circular camera module and a sleek flat back. Available in Black and White colors for international markets, the phone is built with Xiaomi’s robust Guardian Structure, combining a strong aluminum frame, nano-tech vegan leather, and Shield Glass.

The phone features a Xiaomi-custom C8 WQHD+ 6.73″ AMOLED display, 522 ppi, and a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

The main camera on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a 50MP Sony LYT-900 one-inch sensor with a variable-aperture lens. The other three rear cameras are all 50MP Sony IMX858 sensors: Leica 75mm floating telephoto camera, the Leica 120mm periscope camera, and the Leica 12mm ultrawide camera.

The phone supports 8K 30fps shooting on all four cameras, providing clarity and facilitating professional edits. It also introduces a Movie mode with cinematic features, and a MasterCinema for richer HDR videos.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers a professional videography experience, supporting Dolby Vision shooting, stabilization, and a 4-Mic array for advanced sound recording. The device introduces a Movie mode for cinematic shots, MasterCinema for richer HDR videos, and a Director mode for advanced controls and Log format recording.

Additionally, there’s a 32MP front camera for selfies.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 14 is designed to be a compact and convenient daily companion, measuring just 152.8mm x 71.5mm x 8.20mm. Its gently curved back panel provides a comfortable grip for extended use.

The speaker and infrared port are strategically placed for a clean look on the top and side frames. The ultra-thin bezel design uses advanced FIAA technology to create a slim 1.71mm bottom bezel, enhancing the immersive viewing experience.

For photography, Xiaomi 14 features a triple-camera setup covering a broad focal range from 14mm to 75mm. The main camera has a Leica Summilux lens with an upgraded f/1.6 aperture and a Light Fusion 900 image sensor, offering up to 13.5 EV of dynamic range. The ultrawide camera has a 50MP resolution, and there’s a Leica 75mm floating telephoto lens with a minimum focus distance of 10cm.

Xiaomi 14 is equipped with a 6.36-inch CrystalRes AMOLED 1.5K (2670 x 1200) screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3000 nits.

The official Philippine price of Xiaomi 14 will be revealed during the local launch on February 29.
