DC Studios has unveiled the full trailer for Clayface, its first horror-thriller film, offering a chilling look at the tragic origin of one of Gotham City’s most unsettling villains.

Directed by James Watkins from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film is based on characters from DC and opens in Philippine cinemas on October 21.

Starring Tom Rhys Harries as the titular Gotham villain, the film follows Matt Hagen, a rising Hollywood actor whose promising career is shattered after a brutal attack leaves him permanently disfigured. Desperate to reclaim his former life, Hagen undergoes an experimental medical procedure that initially restores his appearance but soon twists both his body and mind, transforming him into the monstrous Clayface.

The new trailer expands on the teaser released in April, showing Hagen agreeing to become the first human subject of a radical procedure despite repeated warnings.

“This isn’t cosmetic surgery,” the doctor cautions before administering the mysterious substance. Determined to get his life back, Hagen replies, “Even if it kills me, I’ll be better off than I am now.”

The treatment initially appears successful before descending into disturbing body horror as Hagen’s face and body begin to deform uncontrollably. As his condition worsens, so does his thirst for revenge.
