VST ECS Phils., Inc. successfully concluded the CXO Tech Summit 2023, which took place from October 18 to 21 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Mactan, Cebu.

With the theme “Digital Transformation: Growth and Resilient Cybersecurity,” the annual conference highlighted the need for a resilient cybersecurity approach as businesses embrace digital transformation and hybrid work setups.

In his welcome remarks, VST ECS Phils., Inc. President and CEO Jimmy Go recognized the continuous digital transformation happening across all industries as well as the accelerated development of digital technologies.

“In the ever-evolving world of technology, we are charting a course—through a landscape that has seen profound advancement in recent years. It’s important to understand that digital transformation is not a one-time event but an ongoing journey. Every day, we bear witness to the unveiling of new digital technologies,” he said.

Go also acknowledged the significant role of chief information officers (CIOs) in ensuring that their respective companies seamlessly and securely embrace technological evolutions.

At the same time, he challenged the participants to safeguard traditional IT infrastructure. “Our role transcends the title of CIO; we are the protectors of the digital world, where human-machine interactions occur seamlessly. In this new era, our responsibility extends beyond the boundaries of our organizations to safeguard the privacy, security, and well-being of individuals,” he added

Emmy Lou V. Delfin, director of the ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB) at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), also graced the conference as a guest speaker.

Delfin recognized VST ECS Philippines’ efforts in spearheading the conversations around the nation’s digital transformation initiatives.

She also applauded all the participants for their individual efforts in the overall technological development of the country.

The biggest theme, however, was cybersecurity, with topics such as endpoint security, infrastructure security, data protection and application security, and zero trust architecture.

VST ECS ended Day 2 of the conference with a panel discussion featuring all the speakers from the last two days. The industry leaders engaged with the participants by answering their questions on the emerging IT trends and their challenges and providing insights into their experiences and strategies for implementing digital transformation initiatives while maintaining robust cybersecurity practices.

On the third and last day, attendees joined in the various breakout sessions prepared by VST ECS and the event sponsors. Technology providers presented their company’s latest services and products. Meanwhile, participants got to take part in fireside chats with IT experts and leaders and get practical advice for their own initiatives.

Throughout the three-day event, an exhibition at the Dusit Thani Hotel lobby allowed attendees to visit vendor and sponsor booths to explore the cutting-edge solutions they offer.
