Volvo Philippines saw its sales performance grow by 27% compared to pre-pandemic figures.
In a statement, the Swedish car company attributed the growth to the introduction of electrified Volvo models, including the Volvo XC40, XC60, and XC90.
The luxurious, long-wheelbase Volvo S90 premium sedan also helped jack up the sales with a 109% volume jump. The reigning bestseller remains the Volvo XC90 7-seater luxury SUV, with a 187% rise in sales.
Volvo Philippines said that the positive reception from the market may also be attributed to Volvo’s reputation for safety, quality, and care. It is the first luxury car brand in the country to launch an intensive customer service program when the pandemic hit. Its Volvo Concierge program provided sales and aftersales support.
According to the company, they will be launching at least two new fully electric Volvo models this year. At the same time, the growing network of dealer partners is also expected to augment sales.
