Filipino fashion took the spotlight at “Ternocon: Palaro,” held at the FIFA-certified MOA Sky Football Pitch. The event brought together SM Supermalls, Bench, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in a creative collaboration that merged tradition with modern design.
Now on its third staging with SM, the Ternocon Special Edition continues to highlight Filipino identity through contemporary versions of the terno, kimona, and barong. This year’s theme, “Palaro,” focused on movement, diversity, and the playful side of fashion, with designs inspired by sports and everyday motion.
The MOA Sky Football Pitch was transformed into an open-air runway, showing how Filipino creativity can take shape in unconventional venues.
Six designers presented fresh interpretations of the Filipiniana. Hannah Adrias took cues from 1980s silhouettes, while Glyn Alley Magtibay’s “Intramurals” combined indigenous textures with athletic elements.

Jo Ann Bitagcol’s “Liga” offered relaxed, nostalgic looks, while Len Cabili of Filip+Inna explored basketball culture in “Basketball Parabola.”

Renz Reyes reshaped classic pieces into streamlined, sport-inspired outfits, while Carl Jan Cruz reworked archival Bench shirts into inventive, upcycled designs.

“Ternocon: Palaro” adds to SM Supermalls’ growing list of initiatives that celebrate Filipino creativity. Following “Paskong Ternocon” at SM Aura and “Kasarinlan, Kultura, Kasuotan” at the Museo del Galeón, this latest edition at the MOA Sky Pitch reinforces SM’s role in advancing local artistry through creative partnerships and meaningful cultural experiences.
