Suzuki Philippines Incorporated returns as the official motorcycle partner of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for the second consecutive year.

This partnership with the MPBL, also known as “Liga ng Bawat Pilipino,” reinforces the league’s goal of finding and nurturing talented basketball players nationwide.

Team Suzuki joined the MPBL as it tipped off its 2024 season at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan last April 6.

The opening ceremony was hosted by the province of Pangasinan, a new addition to the MPBL family  this season. Thirty teams, including three newcomers—the Abra Weavers, Pangasinan Heatwaves, and Tarlac United Force—are gearing up to  battle it out for the coveted championship title. The Pampanga Giant Lanterns—the reigning  champions and North Division victors of the previous season—will be a formidable force to  contend with.

Dignitaries who graced the event include MPBL founder Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao,  Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, Board Member Joseph Ramos, Marketing Head Seth Jamora,  Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III, Calasiao Pangasinan Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay, and La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos.

They were joined by Suzuki Philippines’ marketing communications group head Edelyn Yanilla, product marketing and data group head Victoria Caringal, and field marketing group head Johnny De Guzman.

Suzuki Philippines will also bring more fun to the live games with the thrilling half-court shootout  competition. Three participants will be trying their luck to shoot the ball to win a brand new  Suzuki Avenis each game. In addition, customers can also check out Suzuki’s latest scooters on display with special promos when bought during the event.
