It’s been rumored for months, and now it’s official. At the PlayStation Showcase 2023 gaming event, Sony announced that it is working on a handheld game streaming device designed around Remote Play.

The device is internally called Project Q and features an 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is attached to a DualSense wireless controller and will feature both the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense.

According to Sony, you will only be able to stream PS5 games that have been downloaded onto your console—which means no native gaming.

The Q handheld is set to launch later this year, but Sony didn’t say exactly when or how much the new device might cost.
