Volkswagen Philippines brings its newest crossover, the Volkswagen Tharu, to Ayala malls this month, allowing car enthusiasts and mallgoers to see and experience German engineering in the metal.
The Volkswagen Tharu will be on display at the following locations and dates:
- February 28 to March 5: Amphitheater, UP Town Center, Quezon City
- March 7 to 10: Ground Floor, Fashion Walk, Greenbelt, Makati
- March 21 to 24: Ground Floor, Trinoma, Quezon City

A crossover like no other
The Volkswagen Tharu, designed as a global product, stands out in a sea of compact crossovers with its dignified styling and confident presence. It features long horizontal Matrix LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a distinctive LED-illuminated grille, and 18-inch alloy wheels, the Tharu stands out in the compact crossover segment.
Inside, the Tharu offers a timeless design with classic lines, leather seats, and high-quality surfaces. The spacious interiors boast modern amenities, including 12-way electric seats, a gesture control-equipped 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless mobile phone charging, Apple CarPlay, and a panoramic sunroof. The Tharu ensures convenience with features like a hands-free electric tailgate and ample storage space.
Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 158hp and 250Nm of torque, the Tharu offers linear acceleration through its 7-speed DSG transmission.
Two variants of the Tharu are locally available: the Tharu 300 TSI SE (P1,808,000) and the top-of-the-line Tharu 300 TSI SEL (P1,945,000).
Both variants come with a full complement of six airbags front and rear, electronic stabilization program, electronic parking brake with auto hold, rear traffic alert system, and tire pressure monitor.
The SEL adds a 360-degree camera and PLA 3.0 Intelligent Parking Assist System to its list of safety features.
A 3-year/100,000km vehicle warranty and one-year 24/7 emergency roadside assistance is included in every Volkswagen Tharu purchase.
