Samsung has unveiled its first tri-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. The device expands from a 6.5-inch phone into a 10-inch tablet, delivering a flexible, multitasking-friendly form factor built for today’s AI-driven workflows.

Measuring just 3.9 mm at its thinnest point, the TriFold packs flagship-grade hardware anchored by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy and a 200MP main camera. Powering the device is Samsung’s largest foldable battery yet—a 5600mAh three-cell system (with 45W charging) distributed across the three panels for balanced power delivery.

To keep the fold smooth and secure, the updated Armor FlexHinge uses two hinges of different sizes working in sync for a stable, near-gapless closure. The triple-panel display is reinforced with a protective overcoat and shock-absorbing layers, while premium materials—titanium around the hinge, an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame, and a ceramic-glass fiber back—add strength without adding bulk.

Samsung built the inward-folding hinge to feel smooth and sturdy every time you open or close it. Plus, if you accidentally try to fold it the wrong way, the phone lets you know with a vibration and an on-screen warning, so you don’t have to worry about damaging it.

Open it up, and the Galaxy Z TriFold feels like carrying three phones at once. The 10-inch display lets you stack three different portrait-sized apps side by side, drag windows around, and switch tasks without breaking your flow thanks to the built-in taskbar. And if you want a full workstation, this is the first phone that can run Samsung DeX on its own—complete with up to four workspaces and support for external displays.

The bright and fluid Dynamic AMOLED 2X display has up to 120Hz refresh rate, as well as 2,600 nits on the cover screen, and 1,600 nits on the main display.

Samsung further enhanced the TriFold with Galaxy AI features such as Photo Assist, Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, and Browsing Assist, plus multimodal Gemini Live for real-time, context-aware assistance.

Samsung has yet to reveal the official price, but has announced that it will be available in South Korea starting December 12.
