Samsung has announced the next generation of its groundbreaking foldable smartphones at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2022, including the new Galaxy Z Fold4.
This dual-screen flagship foldable has been given a performance upgrade as well as camera tech borrowed from the Galaxy S22.
One of the big new features is a new Taskbar, which has a layout similar to your PC. This means you can launch apps instantly from the bottom of the screen instead of having to constantly head back to the home screen. It also lets you pin your faves, or save multi-app combos for even speedier multitasking. Speaking of, multitasking is now also more intuitive, thanks to new swipe gestures.
As for the cameras, the Z Fold4 now comes with better rear shooters. There’s a 50MP main snapper with f/1.8 aperture, image stabilization, and dual pixel autofocus; a 12MP ultrawide camera; and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
Samsung has equipped the Z Fold4 with a variety of camera modes, including the larger zoom map activated on capture view mode, dual preview, and rear cam selfie that are custom-built to take advantage of the unique form factor.
There’s also a 10MP f/2.2 punch hole camera on the outer screen and a 4MP f/1.8 under-display snapper on the inside screen.
The main display is 7.6-inches and has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It has a 21.6:18 aspect ratio and 2176 x 1812 screen resolution. Meanwhile, the outer display measures 6.2 inches with a 23.1:9 aspect ratio, 2316 x 904 resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate.
The Z Fold4’s frame is built out of Armor Aluminum while the cover display and back panel are now guarded by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The phone is rated IPX8 for water resistance and has been independently certified to fold up to 200,000 times.
Powering the Galaxy Z Fold4 is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

Meanwhile, customers can also pre-order thru Samsung Experience Stores, Authorized Samsung Stores, Lazada, Shopee, Abenson.com, and MemoXpress Online from August 11 to September 1, where they can get as much as P30,400 worth of freebies. These include the same freebies from the Samsung.com pre-order except for the 1-year full protection screen and device. In this case, customers will get 1-year screen protection worth P7,880 with Samsung Care+.
