Swiss-based smartphone maker Punkt. is bringing its latest privacy-first device, the MC03, to CES 2026 with a clear message: smartphones don’t have to spy on their users to be useful. The latest device continues the company’s mission to create beautifully designed, minimalist smartphones that respect privacy without adding friction.
Manufactured in Germany at the Gigaset facility, the MC03 combines precision hardware with AphyOS, Punkt.’s privacy-first operating system. Like the MC02 before it, the MC03 is a subscription-based smartphone designed around what people actually use—core apps, clear settings, and control over their own data—without the usual pressure to stay endlessly online.
The MC03 is built around two distinct digital spaces. Vault is the locked-down side of the phone, reserved for trusted, Punkt.-approved apps and designed to deliver maximum privacy with a clean, distraction-free interface. The second space—Wild Web—opens things up, allowing users to install any app they want while keeping data use visible and controllable.
The MC03 also brings a redesigned operating system aimed at keeping users focused on what matters. AphyOS strips out tracking, profiling, bloatware, and background clutter, replacing them with hardened security and a bank-grade Secure Element that help shut down spying and potential attacks.
On the hardware side, the MC03 features a 120Hz OLED HDR display, a removable 5200mAh battery, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a 64MP camera. Built-in VPN service Digital Nomad and the Ledger privacy dashboard round out the experience.
The MC03 retails for €699 and, as with earlier Punkt. devices, comes with a subscription model. The first year is included in the price, followed by a €9.99 monthly fee. Those willing to commit long term can significantly reduce the cost, with savings of up to 60 percent.
