Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has launched the fifth-generation Kia Sportage in the local market, bringing back one of the country’s pioneering compact SUVs with a new hybrid powertrain and updated technology.
The new Sportage adopts Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, highlighted by the signature Tiger Nose grille, Star-Map LED lighting, projector fog lamps, and standard 18-inch alloy wheels across the lineup. A Smart Power Tailgate adds convenience for everyday use.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery, producing a combined 232hp and 367Nm. The hybrid system is designed to deliver stronger performance while improving fuel efficiency for both city driving and long-distance travel.
Inside, the Sportage features a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, leather seats, and either a six-speaker audio system or an eight-speaker Harman Kardon setup, depending on the variant.

Safety features include six airbags, cruise control, and a tire pressure monitoring system across the range. The top-spec SX adds Kia DriveWise driver assistance technologies such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
The Sportage is available in two variants. The EX carries an introductory price of P1,898,000 until the end of the month before increasing to P1,978,000, while the SX starts at P2,098,000, with an optional two-tone interior priced at P2,128,000. Buyers can choose from Heritage Blue, Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey.
Every Sportage comes with a five-year/160,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty.
