Kia Philippines has unveiled the all-new Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid—the first in the nameplate’s 23-year global history that features a hybrid powertrain.
Powering the Sorento Turbo Hybrid is a 1.6-liter turbocharged Smartstream Gasoline Direct Injection engine paired with an electric motor and a lithium-ion traction battery, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This intelligent hybrid powertrain produces a combined output of 232hp and 367Nm.
Available in front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants, the hybrid SUV offers selectable drive modes and three terrain-specific modes for diverse driving conditions. Meanwhile, Kia’s Electrification Vehicle Motion Control (E-VMC) system enhances handling and ride comfort.
The Sorento Turbo Hybrid’s Smart Regeneration feature maximizes battery regeneration, allowing for fuel efficiency of up to 23 km/l in urban settings.
Inside, the Sorento Turbo Hybrid boasts premium materials, leather upholstery, and power-adjustable ventilated seats. A dual 12.3-inch digital display setup in the EX+ and SX variants provides a sleek interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle monitoring. The EX+ and SX also come with a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
Other features include a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a smart tailgate. For safety, the EX+ and SX trims come with Kia DriveWise, an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The new Kia Sorento Turbo Hybrid is available in three variants:
- EX Turbo Hybrid FWD: P2,188,000
- EX+ Turbo Hybrid FWD: P2,588,000
- SX Turbo Hybrid AWD: P2,888,000
It comes in four colors: Volcanic Sand Brown, Aurora Black Pearl, Silky Silver, and Snow White Pearl.
Kia Philippines also offers a comprehensive warranty package: 5 years/160,000km for the vehicle, 5 years/160,000km for the electric motor, and 8 years/160,000kmfor the traction battery.
