Cybersecurity risks are growing rapidly across the Asia-Pacific region, prompting global security firm Kaspersky to strengthen its enterprise focus as organizations face increasingly complex digital threats.

The global cybersecurity firm, which operates in more than 200 countries and territories, has maintained a strong presence in the region for over two decades. It currently works with more than 3,500 partners across Asia-Pacific and offers over 40 cybersecurity solutions designed to protect individual users, businesses, critical infrastructure, and government institutions.

According to Kaspersky, 2025 saw a sharp rise in cyber threats worldwide. The company detected around 500,000 malicious files every day, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. Particularly concerning were password-stealing malware, which surged by 59%, along with a 51% increase in spyware and a 6% rise in backdoor threats.

The trend is even more alarming in Asia-Pacific. The region recorded a 132% spike in password stealers and a 32% increase in spyware, highlighting the growing risks as companies rapidly adopt digital technologies.

“Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT function, it directly impacts business continuity and competitive advantage,” said Adrian Hia, Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Kaspersky. “Organizations today must defend against everything from mass-scale attacks and fraud to sophisticated APT campaigns.”

As more organizations across APAC move their operations online, Kaspersky says it is stepping up efforts to provide smarter and more transparent cybersecurity solutions. Using its global threat intelligence, the company aims to help businesses stay protected while expanding its presence in the region.
