As the Philippines and the rest of the world celebrate World Teachers’ Day today, October 5, Google is marking the occasion with an animated doodle that recognizes the role of teachers in encouraging innovation.
The same Google Doodle has been used to mark various Teachers’ Days around the world this year. It was first used on April 13 in Ecuador. Other countries celebrate Teachers’ Day on other dates.
Established in 1994, World Teachers’ Day commemorates the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/International Labor Organization Recommendation for the Status of Teachers, which addressed the status and status of teachers worldwide.
The day aims to appreciate, evaluate, and improve teachers and provide opportunities to reflect on issues related to education.
This year’s theme is “The transformation of education begins with teachers.”
