Express transportation company FedEx Express kickstarted its 40th anniversary by teaming up with local non-profit Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation to conduct a beach clean-up activity.

In line with its culture value to “Commit to do Good,” over 100 FedEx volunteers came together and collected approximately 588 kilograms of trash at Barangay Taltal in Masinloc, Zambales.

In addition, FedEx donated P1 million to Gawad Kalinga to support programs in select areas in Zambales and Metro Manila through educational workshops that will empower local communities to shift to more sustainable and greener practices.

The volunteers shared insights on the impact of climate change on coastal communities, the importance of preventing plastic pollution on marine life, and sustainable waste management.

FedEx also donated recycling bins to the local authorities and community leaders to encourage the recycling, recovery, and upcycling of used materials.

The program complements FedEx enterprise sustainability goals, like the company’s aim to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2040. FedEx aims to advance its environmental objectives through innovation, research, and empowering communities to act sustainably.
