David’s Salon has always been a supporter of female athletes. Back in 2005, it created Team David’s Salon, the first all-female multisport team.

Now, the Philippines’ largest chain of salons is foraying into another kind of sport: esports.

David’s Salon signed an agreement with Maharlika Esports League to hold an all-female PUBG: Battlegrounds tournament called David’s Salon Cup

Running from April 25 to May 8, 2022, David’s Salon Cup targets to gather 1,000 participants from all over the country. Over P70,000 worth of prizes will be given away.

The competition is open to Philippine residents aged 16 years old and above. Registration procedures and the complete details of tournament will be posted on David’s Salon social media pages, and interested gamers should check the official pages for the full mechanics.

As a champion of Filipina athletes, David’s Salon looks at the future with gamers in the digital arena. Esports has become an unstoppable force, as they are now being included in international sporting events.

The 2019 SEA Games already included six medal categories for esports, with the Philippines winning three out of the six gold medals and being ranked first in the category.

Meanwhile, for the first time ever, the International Olympics Committee held The Olympics Virtual Series, a group of esports events held during the run-up of the 2021 Olympics.
