Filipino tabletop gaming—built on strategy, creativity, and strong community ties—is getting a bigger stage as SM Supermalls expands its support for the community through Cyberzone.

In previous years, tabletop gaming appeared as a side component in Cyberzone’s gaming events, including the Cyberzone Challenger Series and Cyberzone Geek Con DX. This year, however, the format is being elevated with its own dedicated tournament series—Tabletop Throwdown—giving tabletop players a spotlight of their own.

“This is a deliberate move to spotlight the tabletop pioneers whose community-building and tactical energy have long been a fundamental part of our gaming culture. We are creating an all-out experience that celebrates their craft through the unique tech and gaming moments only Cyberzone and SM Supermalls can deliver,” said. Patrick Pacla, Vice President – Cyberzone Operations and Marketing at SM Supermalls.

To match the intensity of competition, Cyberzone is also raising the stakes for the series’ finale. A P20,000 prize pool is up for grabs for each tournament. Fan-favorite games such as Magic: The Gathering and Beyblade X will crown champions during the final leg.

The event is open to beginners, who can stop by the Neutral Grounds booth for “Learn to Play” sessions.

The grand finale of the Cyberzone Tabletop Throwdown takes place at the Main Atrium of SM City BF Parañaque on March 28 and 29. Freeplay registration opens on March 28, ahead of the main tournament on March 29. Slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis through the SMO App.
