Bring out your toughness with the G-SHOCK x Team Land Cruiser watch

With a rich history of endurance and passion, Casio G-SHOCK and Team Land Cruiser (TLC) Toyota Auto Body have teamed up to produce the special edition Master of G Mudman or GW-9500TLC-1,

This rugged timepiece encapsulates the very essence of adventure and challenge. Inspired by the indomitable spirit of TLC, a veteran of the grueling Dakar Rally, this watch is based on the earlier edition of MUDMAN GW-9500, a sturdy piece of outdoor gear known for delivering in the most punishing conditions.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, the watch features a striking black and red color scheme that pays homage to TLC’s legendary rally car. The rugged design, coupled with red accents and ion plating, evokes the raw power and durability of a machine built to conquer the toughest terrains.

One of the watch’s most distinctive features is its sand-colored band, reminiscent of the vast desert landscapes traversed by TLC during the Dakar Rally. The band is also printed with a black splatter pattern that evokes tracks left by speeding racers. The ion plating in the same brown hue is also applied to the guard for the front button.

Emblazoned with the official Team Land Cruiser logo, both on the band and case back, this watch serves as a fitting tribute to the partnership between G-SHOCK and TLC. There’s also a TLC graphic on the LCD when the LED backlight is illuminated.  

Beyond its striking aesthetics, the GW-9500TLC-1 is also a testament to G-SHOCK’s commitment to sustainability. The key resin components used in the case and band are made with bio-based resin which can help reduce environmental impact.  Recycled materials are used for the special packaging as well.

The watch’s rugged exterior has a multi-component design with an independent front button. It uses special glass and a Carbon Core Guard structure for durability and a slim, comfortable fit.

The LCD screen has two layers: the top shows a graphical compass, while the bottom displays measurements and time.

Meanwhile, The front button and three sensor buttons are large and easy to use, with stainless steel protection to keep out mud and water. They’re equipped with gaskets to prevent contamination.

Other notable aspects of the watch include a Triple Sensor (digital compass, barometer/altimeter, and thermometer), a multi-band 6 radio control and solar power for accurate timekeeping, and Super Illuminator (high-brightness full-auto LED backlight) for maintaining watch readability in the dark.
