Apple has announced the Apple Watch Series 9 at its Wonderlust event, featuring a more powerful chip inside.

The new S9 processor promises a faster CPU and GPU for more responsive interactions with your wrist. According to Apple, the power efficiency of the S9 chip allows the watch to maintain an 18-hour battery life.

There’s also a new ultra-wideband chip inside to help you find your iPhone more easily. Plus, with UWB chip, you can bring your Apple Watch near Homepods—just like you would your iPhone—to share media.

A new Double Tap gesture allows you to control the watch—without touching the display. By tapping your index finger and thumb of your watch hand, you can conveniently pick up a call, stop a timer, play and pause music, or snooze an alarm, among others.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is available in two screen sizes, both featuring edge-to-edge display with up to 2000 nits of brightness.

It runs watchOS 10, which delivers redesigned apps, the new Smart Stack, new watch faces, new cycling and hiking features, and tools to support mental health.
