The latest trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has been released, showcasing Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in signature death-defying action, starting with him hanging upside down from a moving aircraft.
The trailer also features flashbacks to iconic moments from the franchise’s history, including the CIA vault break-in from the original Mission: Impossible (1996) and the Kremlin bombing in Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol (2011).
The new trailer shows Hunt in handcuffs, being called upon for a mission to “bring the world back from the brink.” He’s told, “Everything you were, everything you’ve done, has come to this,” and he is later heard saying, “I need you to trust me one last time.”
The latest trailer teases Hunt’s continued battle against The Entity, the dangerous artificial intelligence from Dead Reckoning. The AI’s growing influence puts Ethan Hunt’s allies Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), Luther Strickell (Ving Rhames), and Grace (Hayley Atwell) in danger, forcing Hunt to make risky choices. The trailer hints at Hunt potentially trying to understand the AI by “bonding” with it.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is the eighth film in the action spy series. The cast includes Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Shea Wigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Pom Klementieff.
The film is set to premiere in Philippine theaters on May 21.
