Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has unveiled the refreshed version of its popular MPV.

Longer and taller than its predecessor, the new Mitsubishi Xpander comes with both exterior and interior revisions. The front embraces a more horizontal structure with the addition of three-dimensional skid guards. There’s a new black metallic radiator grille, T-shaped headlights, and restyled LED daytime running lights.

The LED taillights also come with the same T-shaped motif as the headlights. All variants are equipped with redesigned side skirts, vertical reflectors on the rear bumper, and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55 R17 tires.

Inside, the Xpander comes with an updated dashboard, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel with tweaked multi-function controls, a new meter cluster, and a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

The front console has also been converted into a larger-capacity open tray while still having a 12V outlet and USB port. In the second row, there’s one Type-A and one Type-C USB ports embedded on the back of the console.

This 7-seater MPV is also equipped with Cruise Control to help reduce fatigue on long trips. A reverse camera has also been included to help provide more visibility while backing up.

Mechanically, the Xpander remains the same: a 1.5-liter MIVEC gasoline engine (103hp and 141Nm) paired with a four-speed automatic gearbox or five-speed manual transmission.

Prices for the new Xpander are as follows:

  • GLS AT: P1,160,000
  • GLX AT: P1,090,000
  • GLX MT: P1,030,000

There are five color options available: White Pearl, Graphite Gray, Black, Red, Sunshine Orange, and the new Blade Silver.

The new Xpander is available for test drive at the Reimagine Your Ride: The Mitsubishi Test Drive Tour from May 20 to 22 happening at Block 16 SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
