The Sunshine Place, a senior hub under the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, recently marked its 11th anniversary with a lively cowboy-themed celebration filled with music, dance, and joy.
The highlight of the event was a special performance by D’Legends—dance icons Laly and Terri Aldeguer, Maribeth Bichara, and Mel Feliciano—who brought back the energy and glamour of the disco era.

The milestone celebration also highlighted eleven things to love about Sunshine Place, reflecting how it has grown into a vibrant community that celebrates creativity, wellness, and friendship.
Members can explore their artistic side through art classes in acrylic painting, porcelain painting, watercolor, and drawing—often joined by the seniors’ children or grandchildren. The hub also offers speech and music therapy lessons, and voice lessons, as well as dance lessons—social ballroom, tap dancing, and chair dancing, Yeba Indak, and Dekada classes to keep everyone active and confident.
There are also workshops on memoir and children’s story writing; classes on Ikebana Sogetsu to encourage creative floral design; fitness training and physical and occupational therapy; and pampering options at Footzone Spa and Vivify Salon.
Members can unwind and connect over healthy meals at the Happy Garden Café by Bizu or enjoy fresh blooms from Mira Le Fleur.
Spiritual nourishment is also part of the experience, with Masses and vow renewals at the roof deck chapel.
Through shared interests and time together, members develop warm relationships with members that keep them happy and healthy. They can also join in mahjong sessions, pilgrimage and cultural trips, and camaraderie formed within the classes.
True to its spirit of sharing, this year’s art exhibit proceeds supported the Josefheim Elderly Care Community in Rizal, which provides care and comfort to abandoned seniors.
Sunshine Place is located at 56 Jupiter Street, Barangay Bel Air, Makati.
