After debuting in the Philippines last year with its entry-level portable speaker Roam, California-based audio brand Sonos is now set to launch the Ray soundbar.
The entry-level compact soundbar will be available in the local market starting September 9 through Mod Audio, the brand’s exclusive distributor in the country. At P22,990, it’s the most affordable variant in Sonos’ lineup of soundbars, but it sure doesn’t compromise on sound quality, aesthetics, and performance.
Geared to be an all-around entertainment companion for general media consumers, the Sonos Ray promises a crisp, balanced, and customizable sound whether you’re watching movies, listening to music, or playing games.
The Ray embodies Sonos’ TruePlay Technology—a feature unique to all Sonos products—that adapts the sound to the unique acoustics of the room. It optimizes the sound quality by measuring how the sound is reflected off of walls and other surfaces thus, allowing the music, sound effects, and dialogues to sound the way they should.
Meanwhile, Split Waveguides Technology is responsible for the projection of sound from wall to wall and the accurate positioning of elements in the room, resulting to a precisely balanced sound.
The Ray’s compact and understated design seamlessly blends into your home. It’s also easy to set up; simply connect the speaker to the TV (or PC) through an audio jack. Apart from its built-in touch controls, you can also control it through the TV remote, the Sonos app, or Apple AirPlay 2 via Wi-Fi.
Turn on Speech Enhancement for clearer dialogue when characters whisper or the music swells, or turn on Night Sound when you want to reduce the intensity of loud effects (especially if you’re watching late at night).
