The vibrant Capiztahan Festival, which celebrates the rich culture and seafood bounty of Capiz—the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines”—is set to be even more spectacular this year.
SM City Roxas is joining the festivities with a week-long AweSM Capiz celebration, promising a jam-packed schedule of interactive installations, activities, and events from April 1 to 6.
Kicking off the celebration is the Capiztahan Festival Sale from April 1-6, which offers festival-goers big discounts and deals.
The mall will also host Junior Chamber International’s Project Hi Five that aims to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment.
Highlights of the AweSM Capiz celebration include the Capiztahan Monde Nissin Lucky Perya (April 5-6) featuring classic carnival games, the Lagsanay bike race (April 5) promoting healthy lifestyles, and the Capiztahan 2025 Autoshow (April 5) showcasing unique vehicles. Music lovers can also enjoy AweSM Capiztahan Beats (April 5), a musical showcase of local talent.
Families can enjoy the AweSM: Spin and Snap 360 photo booth (April 5), while supporting local businesses at the AweSM Capiztahan Negosyo Fair (April 5-11), featuring micro, small, and medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
To wrap up the celebration, cosplay fans are invited to watch the AweSM Maragtas Chronicles Cosplay Contest on April 6 at the 2nd Level, Activity Area. Witness cosplayers as they express their creativity by dressing up as legendary characters rooted in the origin of the Ten Bornean Datus, King Marikudo, alongside the famed warrior Lapu-Lapu.
