E-commerce platform Shopee is expanding its Tatak Pinoy MSME Roadshow to more provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao, strengthening its push to equip Filipino entrepreneurs with digital skills and opportunities beyond Metro Manila.

Launched in August last year, the initiative has already seen strong participation in its earlier runs, signaling a rising demand for e-commerce training among regional micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The Bacolod City leg marks a continuation of the Visayas rollout, with further provincial expansions planned as the program scales nationwide. The move is expected to benefit hundreds of underserved sellers seeking to establish or grow their online presence.

In partnership with local government units and the Department of Trade and Industry, the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow builds on Shopee’s decade-long effort to empower small businesses. It offers hands-on training covering digital marketing, logistics, and customer engagement, alongside guidance on store setup and business registration.

Participation remains strong, with around 100 attendees expected in Bacolod alone. This follows a successful 2025 run, when Shopee trained over 700 MSMEs across 10 cities, consistently surpassing attendance targets.

Despite growing interest, many entrepreneurs still face challenges transitioning online, including securing permits and managing operations with limited resources. The program addresses these gaps through practical, end-to-end training.

“Our experience from the roadshow has shown that the passion and entrepreneurial drive are already there,” Jack Ng, Head of Commercial, Shopee Philippines. “What MSMEs need and what we see regional entrepreneurs will also benefit from is the right guidance and support to turn their drive into sustainable growth. Through Tatak Pinoy, we’re working with local government partners to provide practical training that helps sellers overcome early hurdles and build stronger businesses online.”

Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, “What excites me most about Tatak Pinoy is that it gives our local sellers a real and practical path forward. The skills and tools they gain here can help them compete not just within Bacolod, but with sellers anywhere in the Philippines, and that kind of reach is what will sustain our city’s economic growth for years to come.”
