Runners came out in force for the 16th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run held on July 7 at Robinsons Land Corporation’s Bridgetowne Destination Estate.
Organized by Robinsons Supermarket, a long-time advocate for healthy living, the event saw over 6,500 participants take to the streets.
An early start greeted runners with assembly kicking off at 4:30am. The 5KM race kicked off at 5am, while the 10KM course started at 5:30am. Staying true to its core concept, the Buddy Run required participants to cross the finish line together.

This year marked a first for the event’s 16-year history, with all finishers receiving a commemorative medal. Every participant also went home with a grocery bag filled with goodies from Robinsons Supermarket’s partner brands.

The event extended its focus beyond physical well-being, partnering with World Vision, Scholars of Sustenance (SOS), and Communities Organized for Resource Allocation (CORA) to create a lasting impact. These organizations work together to build stronger and more sustainable communities.
Promoting environmental responsibility was a key element of the race. CORA Eco-Ikot Center played a vital role by encouraging runners to dispose of their trash properly at designated bins. This ensured recyclables were collected and diverted from landfills and oceans.
Further demonstrating a commitment to minimizing waste, SOS collected any unclaimed loot bags after the race. These bags will be delivered to communities in need through CORA, extending the spirit of generosity and support beyond the finish line.
