PLDT Home has introduced the ‘Always On’ broadband service, a first-of-its-kind offering in the Philippines designed to ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity. The new hybrid modem automatically switches from fiber to LTE during service interruptions.
The ‘Always On’ modem, equipped with unlimited LTE as backup, can deliver speeds of up to 1Gbps. It’s designed to keep households connected, even during fiber interruptions—minimizing disruptions to online activities.
“In the event of a service interruption, you don’t need to worry about losing access to the internet. Even with a severed cable, you will stay connected and pursue your online activities with minimal interruption,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, Senior Vice President and Head of Home Business Group at PLDT.

The modem also streamlines customer service by automatically filing a repair ticket when it detects downtime. This eliminates the need for customers to report service issues themselves.
“We wanted to create a product that was responsive to the needs of our customers. We believe this will help elevate the internet standard in the country,” added de la Cruz.
After launching Gigabit Fiber plans that offer up to 10Gbps of speed, PLDT Home is now improving customer service and network reliability, as well as fostering customer loyalty. Home aims to improve customer retention, which in 2023 was already better than industry average.
PLDT has earmarked between P75 billion and P78 billion for capital expenditures this year for mobile, port rollout, data centers, and submarine cables.
