Our Home recently held the culminating event for the Academy of Sofa, its first-ever interschool design challenge.
The initiative, which began as an intraschool competition, has grown into a collaborative platform that highlights the creativity and talent of emerging furniture designers from top institutions. Students from the University of the Philippines Diliman, the University of the East, and the Philippine School of Interior Design participated in this sofa design challenge.
The project was launched with a mission to nurture and empower students by giving them a hands-on experience in furniture design, from material selection to production complexities.
The sofa design challenge was made in partnership with Carl Colossal, a key advocate for fostering young talent in the design field. Together, Carl Colossal and Our Home created opportunities for students to bring their concepts to life, showcase their designs to a broader audience, and even explore retail prospects.
The Academy of Sofa exhibit will have a store caravan for the top three design choices at Our Home North Edsa from December 9 to 15 and at Our Home MOA from December 16 to 22.
