Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the next-generation Tamaraw in a grand event held simultaneously across eight locations nationwide. The event showcased various forms and conversions of the new commercial vehicle to audiences in Makati, Quezon City, Pasay, Pampanga, Laguna, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, as well as viewers of the livestream.
An iconic nameplate known by generations of Filipinos, the Toyota Tamaraw has been a trusted companion for families and businesses since the 1990s. The new model continues this legacy with features that meet the evolving needs of Filipinos. Manufactured locally at TMP’s plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna, the new Tamaraw is built on Toyota’s global IMV platform, ensuring a balance of heritage and innovation.
Available in diesel and gas variants, the Next Generation Tamaraw offers multiple body styles for different passenger and cargo requirements. The diesel variants are powered by a fuel-efficient 2.4L 2GD-FTV engine tailored for heavy-duty tasks, while the gas variants are equipped with a reliable 2.0L 1TR-FE engine.
During the grand launch, various configurations of the Next Generation Toyota Tamaraw’s original equipment variants were introduced, including the long wheelbase (LWB) Dropside and LWB Utility Van, which will be available for retail in January 2025; and the LWB Aluminum Cargo, which will have its commercial release in March.
Retail sales for the short wheelbase (SWB) variants of the Utility Van, Dropside, and Aluminum Cargo will start at a later date.
Soon to arrive conversions—ambulance, patrol van, refrigerated van, food truck, mobile service vehicle, and camper RV—were also exhibited to showcase the conversion capabilities of TMP in partnership with Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines (TMSPH).

- Tamaraw 2.4L Dropside M/T: P937,000
- Tamaraw 2.4L Aluminum Cargo M/T: P1,041,000
- Tamaraw 2.4L GL Dropside A/T: P1,075,000
- Tamaraw 2.4L Utility Van M/T: P1,142,000
Toyota has partnered with Toyota Financial Services Philippines to provide flexible financing options, including low down payments and flexible payment schemes, including weekly payments.
Additionally, customers can benefit from customizable insurance policies and a fixed service discount voucher of P1,200 for every Periodic Maintenance Service (PMS) up until the 40,000km checkup.
In addition TMSPH will offer business-oriented solutions such as an On-Demand Shuttle System and Logistics Matching Service, and more to cater to different business needs.
