BYD, through its authorized local distributor Solar Transport and Automotive Resources Corp., showcased a full EV line-up at the recent Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

The spotlight, of course, was on the Chinese car company’s flagship electric sedan, the Han EV.

This midsize luxury sedan has a 76.9kWh Blade Battery that can be charged in as fast as 39 minutes via a DC fast charger or from eight to nine hours using an AC charger.

It has a maximum output of 163kW (218.6hp) at the front wheels, and 200kW (268.2hp) at the rear wheels, as well as a peak speed of 185 kph and a zero to 100kph acceleration of 3.9 seconds. Estimated range is approximately 550km.

Inside, this luxury EV sedan gets leather upholstery, a sunroof, and a rotating 12.3-inch infotainment display.

The Han EV is available for P3,688,000 and is available in two colors: Crimson Red and Doctor Black.

If you’re looking for an EV that can seat more people, check out the BYD Tang EV, a seven-seater sport utility vehicle with an 82.8kWh battery that goes full in 40 minutes when plugged into a DC fast charger or in eight to nine hours via AC charger. It reaches a top speed of 180kph, covers 500km before a recharge, and goes from 0 to 100kph in 4.6 seconds.

The Tang EV is priced at P3,698,000 and is available in French Red and Timo White.

Last but not least is the BYD Dolphin, a five-seater hatchback powered by a 44.9kWh battery. You can charge it as fast as 30 minutes via DC fast charger or in six to seven hours via AC charger.

 According to BYD, the all-electric powertrain can reach a top speed of 130kph, do 400km on a full charge, and go from zero to 50kph in 3.9 seconds. It’s priced at P1,688,000.
