Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the company is rolling out a new paid verification subscription service called Meta Verified.

For $11.99 a month on the web and $14.99 a month on iOS, Facebook and Instagram users can submit their government ID to get a blue verification badge. This, he said, will give users “extra impersonation protection” against fake accounts impersonating them.

Meta verified users can get direct access to customer support, receive proactive monitoring for account impersonation, get exclusive features, and enjoy increased visibility and reach.
