Manulife Philippines closed 2025 by showing what its “Impact Agenda” looks like in action: hands-on, community-driven, and built to create lasting change. Over the past year, the company rolled out a wide range of initiatives focused on environmental restoration, financial education, and colleague-led volunteerism, reinforcing its commitment to customers, communities, and the planet.
One of the highlights of the year was Manulife’s continued push for reforestation. In 2025 alone, the company helped plant more than 10,000 native trees across terrestrial and coastal areas, bringing its total to 31,250 trees planted to date.
Working alongside partners like the Haribon Foundation and local community groups, these efforts support both environmental protection and livelihoods—from mangrove planting in Infanta, Quezon, to large-scale forest restoration in Real, Quezon, and seedling preparation in Rizal for future planting in the Sierra Madre mountain range.
Aside from environmental work, Manulife also doubled down on empowering communities through education. Its award-winning Peso Smart financial literacy program reached new learners across 18 public elementary schools nationwide in 2025, equipping young Filipinos with practical skills such as saving, budgeting, and investing. Since launching in 2017, the program has benefited over 4,900 students
The spirit of bayanihan was also front and center. Manulife Business Processing Services held its inaugural Bayanihan Festival in November 2025, mobilizing volunteers to address food insecurity and disaster relief.
Meanwhile, Manulife’s IT Delivery Center hosted Code4Future sessions to introduce children to coding and creative problem-solving.
Even sustainability found a creative outlet through the “From Trash to Tree-sure” mural—an artwork made entirely from upcycled materials such as old Manulife T-shirts, tarpaulins, and used beverage cartons.
To wrap up its 2025 Impact Agenda, Manulife Global Chief Marketing Officer Karen Leggett joined colleague-volunteers and Peso Smart educators and graduates to prepare 200 native tree seedlings for planting in Tanay, Rizal in 2026.
Manulife colleagues in the Philippines logged over 13,000 volunteer hours in 2025, further amplified by the global Season of Giving campaign, where colleague donations are matched dollar-for-dollar.
