Mang Inasal, the Philippines’ Grill Expert, has officially reopened its birthplace at Robinsons Place Iloilo—revitalized with a modern design while paying tribute to its cultural roots.

The milestone was marked on August 31 with a store blessing and digital relaunch, led by Mang Inasal President Mike V. Castro, brand ambassador Coco Martin, and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Love Baronda. The grand reopening followed on September 1, celebrating the journey of a brand that started in Iloilo in 2003 and has since grown into a national dining favorite.

Founded by Edgar “Injap” Sia II, Mang Inasal is now part of the Jollibee Group and has expanded to more than 570 branches nationwide.

Known for its signature Chicken Inasal, unli-rice offering, and iconic ihaw-sarap experience, the brand continues to resonate with Filipino diners across generations. Recently, global brand valuation agency Brand Finance named Mang Inasal the Strongest Restaurant Brand in the Philippines, further cementing its leadership in the quick-service restaurant industry.

“This store represents the heart and soul of Mang Inasal,” said Castro. “From our first grilled chicken to the millions served today, we remain deeply grateful to Iloilo and every customer from around the world who made this journey possible. This reopening is a tribute to our beginnings and a bold step toward the future.”

A highlight of the reopening was the introduction of Mang Inasal’s 5G (fifth-generation) store design, featuring a more efficient kitchen layout, upgraded Takeout Express lane, the brand’s first Cashless Express Kiosk, and a Heritage Wall that honors the brand’s Iloilo origins.
