Road safety can—and should—start young. And that is why Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI), in partnership with Tamang Ride PH, conducted the first ‘Kids on Safety’ program to introduce kids to road safety and discipline.
The initiative, held last January 31 at Tanza Elementary School in Navotas, welcomed children aged 7 to 10 for a two-weekend series of fun and practical activities.
HFI also donated 100 helmets to the kids—a simple yet powerful reminder of the importance of discipline and proper safety practices.
The program makes road safety relatable and understandable for kids through realistic scenarios and hands-on lessons. It draws from the Tamang Ride PH Road Safety module for children, itself inspired by Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) programs, while also borrowing elements from HSDC’s Teen Smart module for older learners.
Programs like these, along with technologies like Honda SENSING and other motorcycle safety features, are part of Honda’s big vision: zero collision fatalities involving Honda vehicles by 2050. As early as 2030, the company aims to reduce the number of these fatalities by 50%.
Tamang Ride PH is a nationwide road safety movement dedicated toward creating safer roads for everyone, starting with children and new drivers. HFI joined Tamang Ride PH as a ‘Road Safety Ambassador’ in 2025, with HSDC participating in the development of educational materials.
