To enhance efficiency, collaboration, and communication, and ultimately improve the learning experience for public school students, the Department of Education is deploying one million Google Workspace for Education Plus accounts to its educators and staff.
Google Workspace for Education Plus provides educators and personnel with access to a comprehensive suite of cloud-based tools, including Gmail, Classroom, Meet, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Assignments. It also offers increased Drive storage, access to Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, and advanced security features.
This upgrade will empower teachers to conduct classes from anywhere using Google Meet, analyze student performance in real-time, and utilize digital worksheets for subjects such as Math and English.
This initiative marks a significant upgrade from DepEd’s previous use of Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals since 2012, which offered a foundational set of education and learning tools.
