GCash is giving stressed-out commuters a small but meaningful win this holiday season with its limited-time “Murang Sakay” promo for MRT-3 riders. As traffic thickens and lines get longer, the mobile wallet is offering a simple way to make daily trips a bit lighter on the wallet—and easier on the nerves.

From December 8 to 22, GCash users get a P5 discount on their MRT-3 fare when they tap in through any of the dedicated GCash fast lanes. There’s no registration required—just use one of GCash’s cashless payment methods and the discount is automatically applied. While P28 is deducted upfront, the fare adjustment is sent back to your GCash wallet as soon as you exit the station.

There are three convenient ways to go fully cashless when paying for your MRT-3 fare:

  • Tap to Pay: Turn your NFC-enabled Android phone into a digital ticket after a quick one-time setup.
  • Scan GCash Commute QR: Generate a QR code in-app to breeze through the gates—no need to input station info.
  • GCash Visa Card: Your go-to backup when signal drops or your phone’s battery runs low.
