The start of a new year often brings a renewed sense of possibility for Filipino households. After months of holiday hosting, family gatherings, and busy daily routines, many find themselves craving a fresh start—one that begins at home.

Tapping into this collective reset, Anko, Australia’s much-loved home and lifestyle brand, recently hosted a Decluttering and Storage Workshop at Anko TriNoma led by Christine Dychiao, the first Filipina KonMari-certified consultant and founder of Tidying From Within.

The session focused on practical, affordable ways to organize living spaces sustainably—without the pressure of a once-a-year overhaul. The workshop also marked Anko’s first community-focused activity of 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting everyday Filipino living through quality, functional items at accessible prices.

Dychiao advises participants to begin with the spaces that shape daily routines the most. “Start with the area that already overwhelms you. It could be your bedroom, your bathroom, or your closet. When that one space feels calmer, it changes the tone of your entire day,” she shared.

In bedrooms, she demonstrated how Anko’s Bed Linen Boxes (P400) keep spare sheets organized, while Linen-look Underbed Shoe Organizers (P490) make smart use of often-overlooked space without adding visual clutter.

Rather than relying on purely utilitarian containers, Dychiao highlighted the value of storage that blends naturally into the home. Warm neutrals and textured finishes help organizing systems feel intentional and lived-in.

Pieces like the Linen Look Tapered Rectangle Basket (P440), 2 Tone Flat Felt Basket (P530), and Rectangle Boucle Basket with Stripe Lines (P440) offer functional storage while complementing bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared areas.

Dychiao suggests leaving some items in plain view rather than hiding everything away. This way, you stay aware of what you own and skip unnecessary purchases. In the kitchen, Anko’ Clear Rectangle Turntable (P530) and Plastic Spinning Organizer (P250) make everyday items easier to reach, while 2 Compartment Fridge Storage (P490) keeps food organized and fresher for longer.

She also pointed out the often-overlooked Fridge Deodorizer (P130), a simple solution that helps keep refrigerators smelling fresh in busy family homes. “These are small tools, but they make a big difference when used correctly,” she noted.

A key takeaway from the workshop was that effective organizing doesn’t require expensive systems—just durable, functional, and affordable choices. Beyond aesthetics, Dychiao emphasized that organization supports everyday wellness. “When we cannot find what we need, or when we are surrounded by too much, our body responds with stress. Organizing creates space for calm,” she shared.
